Council, as they were informed in the letter from this Dept. of 21st Jan? last, and the further sums required for future years will be similarly voted in due course.
2. The Governor reported last December that the Unofficial Members, which was carried by the majority of the Legislative Council unanimously, 27-3 opposed the vote for Military Expenditure (including the Military Contribution & the vote for Barrack Services) and that they had intimated their intention to address a further representation to the Secretary of State; but no such representation has at present been received, and it seems probable that the intention to protest has been abandoned.
